So I think it’s safe to say that I am annoying when it comes to the ridiculous stuff that I know about nutrition. The farmers in North Dakota were fascinated by my tips on what they should begin to harvest and sell. Or maybe they were fascinated by the new girl in their town of 40. I guess we will never know.
Nutrition has always been the thing that has fascinated me since I was a child. How many carrot sticks should I eat to get all of my beta carotene? How many ingredients could I force into a salad bowl? By the time I reached college I had my first juicer, 5 books on juicing and a book that changed the way I looked at food completely…Mary Lou Henner’s Total Body Makeover. She was so ahead of her time, it’s scary. Along with all of the books you see, I have read countless articles on nutrition and I know all about many of the major “miracle!” supplement companies. I am not a fan of anything that is tied to MLM. Period. I won’t sell products at my studio. Period. There is nothing in my mind that will ever compare to whole and real foods. Real herbs. I believe in chewing real food and I believe in drinking real food. Except kale. Just kidding! It’s really good for you if you’re one of the few that can actually get past putting it in your mouth. And I also won’t recommend any powder supplements for you. Alot of suplements and powders are highly processed and just because it's touted as nutritious doesn't make it right for you. Being healthy isn’t something that is meant to be cheap, easy or quick. It takes time and preparation.
Here is what I will do with you. I will sit down and talk to you, face to face. I will give you a short questionnaire that tells me a little bit about your lifestyle and body type and then we will go over the best foods, oils and herbs for YOU. I’ll have you begin logging your food for yourself. You don’t have to show me, but it’s a little easier to help you if you do! Food journals are mostly for your own awareness of the type of things that you are putting into your body. Sometimes we don’t even know how much we are eating until we are consciously keeping track of it. A typical first time consultation takes about 30 minutes.
The fun stuff happens though in an hour session with me! Full hour sessions concentrate on your entire health and well-being. We will talk for about 20 minutes of your session and then I am certified in something called reiki. It’s not scary like many people think! It’s highly relaxing and the beautiful thing is, you don’t have to do anything but lay there. I will put you in a very relaxed state and use some touch on the body. It’s not really a massage as much as it is balancing energy and bringing a focus to your state of mind. It’s definitely not for everybody, but most people just want up on the table after they discover the benefits! If you prefer we can also head into the back room for some yoga to release some built up energy.
Whatever you need I will design the perfect program to balance you fully. Like everything, this does take time and it’s not a quick fix. However, the benefits will last you a life time and become a life style you don’t know how you ever lived without!
